Studies of yellow: déjà vu

It’s an interesting feeling when summer rolls around — we’ve been here before yet it looks different each time.

I was just in New Orleans art-hunting for client projects and am always enthralled by Jose-Maria Cundin’s work (his recent exhibition Déjà Vu at Callan Contemporary was exceptionally good). I come back to his work often as his use of color and form are serious mood elevators.

Similarly, Anita at Pondicheri in Houston is an inspiration. Her colorful, intentional creations are close to magic each and every time. And they’re delicious!

I love the idea that something we've 'already seen' can still feel entirely new each time we encounter it.

Wishing you all a wonderful, slow rest of summer — full of familiar and invigorating moments!
